/help building / claims / grief-prevention:

Protecting your builds and loot is a self-serviced requirement on this server. If you don’t lock it up, you’ll lose it. The mechanism that provides this is called ‘claims’. To accrue claim blocks, you need to spend time on the server, not AFK. The minimum claim size is 100 blocks. You can currently have up to 4 separate claims on the server, with a total of 5000 horizontal blocks.

To make a claim, you need a golden shovel. Right-click on the new corner of your claim and you’ll see an on-screen indication of how many blocks you have available and the block you selected will be highlighted. Travel to the diagonally opposite corner of your intended claim and right-click your golden shovel again. Congratulations, this area is now yours, all the way up to y256 and down 10 blocks from whatever block height you made your claim at (which will automatically expand down, as you dig), and will continue to be yours, unless you don’t log in for 28 days, in which case you automatically abandon all of your claims.

To resize a claim, providing you have enough accrued claim blocks, use your golden shovel and right-click on one of your claim corners, then right-click on the new, extended, claim corner.

To identify if a block is already claimed, you can right-click on any block with a stick and it will report any claim ownership details and display an on-screen guide to the claim area.

When you are inside your claim, you have access to more commands:

/AbandonClaim  Deletes the claim you’re standing in (recovers 20% of claim blocks only).
/ClaimExplosions  Toggles if explosions are allowed in the claim.
/Trust  Gives another player permission to edit in your claim.  /t
/UnTrust  Revokes any permissions granted to a player in your claim.   /ut
/AccessTrust  “Gives a player permission to use your buttons levers and beds.”  /at
/ContainerTrust  “Gives a player permission to use your buttons levers beds crafting gear containers and animals.”  /ct
/TrustList  Lists the permissions for the claim you’re standing in.
/SubdivideClaims  “Switches your shovel to subdivision mode so you can subdivide your claims.”  /sc
/BasicClaims  Puts your shovel back in basic claims mode.  /bc
/PermissionTrust  Grants a player permission to share his permission level with others.  /pt
/Untrust All  Removes all permissions for all players in your claim.
/AbandonAllClaims  Deletes all of your claims.
/GivePet  Gives away a tamed animal.
/ClaimsList  Lists a player’s claims and claim block details.
/IgnorePlayer  Ignores a target player’s chat messages.  /Ignore
/UnIgnorePlayer  Un-ignores a target player’s chat messages.  /UnIgnore
/IgnoredPlayerList  Lists all players currently ignored.  /IgnoreList
/Siege  Besieges a player (disabled by default).
/Trapped  Gets a player out of a land claim he’s trapped inside.
/UnlockDrops  Allows other players to pick up items you dropped when you died.

Basic claim building tips: wooden doors and wooden trapdoors can be used by any player, but wooden gates and iron doors / iron trapdoors will prevent entry, unless players have permission to use the respective buttons that activate them.

/help talking:

You cannot be “heard” past 50 blocks in normal chat.

/help yelling:

Adding exclamation points at the end of your message yells it further, but also reduces your hunger bar.

! = increased range: 125 blocks, cost: 1 hunger
!! = increased range: 250 blocks, cost: 5 hunger
!!! = increased range: 500 blocks, cost: 10 hunger
!!!! = increased range: 1000 blocks, cost: 20 hunger

/help whispering:

You can whisper to people within 10 blocks by using (parenthesis) around your message.

/help cellphone:

/tell is disabled on this server, so you need a cellphone (found in loot chests) for personal messages across the map. Hold the phone in your hand and type the name of the person/s you want to call. Those called need to also hold a phone to establish the connection. Beware: People within 50 blocks can still hear you.

/help cell tower:

Cell Towers (found in loot chests) are required to use Cell Phones. Cell tower is made from a Cell Tower Block (found in loot chests). Place iron bars on top of the Cell Tower Block to increase range, minimum of 6 to maximum of 32 ironbars. Activate the tower by placing a redstone torch to the side. The tower antenna must not have any blocks above it to work.

/help infection:

Zombies have a chance to infect you. While infected, you lose 1 heart every 20 seconds and your hunger will deplete faster. Antibiotics will cure you. Some other items may work too.

/help beds:

Beds have a delay for setting your spawn.  First time it is 10 minutes. After that it is only 5 minutes. You with spawn in a random location if you die before the time. A msg will alert you when your spawn is set.

/help mobile radio:

Mobile radios (found in loot chests) can be used to receive messages from radio transmitters. By holding it in your hand and clicking in the air, it will regularly give you messages left by other survivors and allows you to pinpoint their location.

/help radio transmitter:

Radio transmitters can built to send out message. Place an obsidian block with a sign on the side for the message (up to 3 signs can be used). Add an antenna made from ironbars to the top of the obsidian block. Antenna height controls transmitter range: minimum of 6 ironbars for close range up to a maximum of 40 ironbars for long range (5000 blocks).  Turn the transmitter on by placing a redstone torch to the side of the obsidian block. Transmitter can be toggled on/off by applying redstone power to the redstone torch.

/help report hackers:

If you see someone flying around or feel that your base has been x-rayed, please report it using the private ticket system on this website. Please do not clean up or modify blocks in the area.

See our Server Rules page for more information on what is and is not allowed on the server.

Approved Mods

  • Optifine: This will help you with the lagspikes and framerate performance.
  • Rei’s Minimap : A lovely little tool to help you find your way back to your last death, as well as save your home as a waypoint!
  • Armor Status Hud/ Status EffectHud: This one displays your armor rating and weapon rating as well as your status (poisoned, invis, etc).

What are the differences between lag and framerate issues, and how to tell?

  • Lag is caused due to network issues (and sometimes the game server, but we’re monitoring for that). Could be caused from slow ISP connections or the distance between you and the game server. Check your ping using the TAB key, in-game.
  • Framerate is usually due to computer performance. Could be the game settings are too high for your computer’s hardware or you have other applications running. Plugins like Optifine do wonders at improving framerate compared to vanilla Minecraft. On Windows machines, you can also change your Power Options in Control Panel and choose the hidden ‘High Performance’ profile to increase CPU speed.

Suggestions to improve game performance.

  • Check your network. Could be ISP or WiFi issues.
  • Lower game video settings. Fancy graphics look great but surviving is more important.
  • Close other programs. Those 30 tabs of Chrome aren’t helping.
